Journalism AI
JournalismAI is a global initiative that empowers news organisations to use artificial intelligence responsibly. It supports innovation and capacity-building in news organisations to make the potential of AI more accessible and to counter inequalities in the global news media around AI. JournalismAI is a project of Polis – the LSE's journalism think-tank – and is supported by the Google News Initiative.
Attending the Μedia Village will be:

Ana Paula Valacco is Programme Manager and Engagement Lead at JournalismAI, an initiative of Polis, the journalism think tank at the London School of Economics (LSE).
She holds a Master's degree in Journalism, Media, and Communication from Cardiff University.
With a background in political science and journalism, she has worked in Marketing at Google Argentina and as the Institutional Development Coordinator at Chequeado, a pioneering and globally recognised fact-checker.
Additionally, she serves as the ambassador in Argentina and was the director of Global Project Oasis at SembraMedia, an organization that helps independent digital media leaders build stronger institutions and develop sustainable business models.

Lwazi Maseko is a Programme Officer for JournalismAI at the London School of Economics and Political Science. She supports the JournalismAI Academy and its activities, and leads the planning and curation of the annual JournalismAI Festival. She works closely with journalists from around the world to support their understanding and use of AI in the newsroom.
Lwazi holds a BA Honours in Journalism and Media Studies from the University of the Witwatersrand.
She began her career at Bloomberg, focusing on news coverage and analysis, and later joined Jamlab, where she worked on stories about the challenges and opportunities facing African journalism

Lakshmi Sivadas is a senior programme manager at JournalismAI and programme lead for the JournalismAI Innovation Challenge.
She has previously worked as a reporter and producer for NDTV and CNBC in India, where she lives.
Her interests include the use of AI technologies for audience and community engagement in journalism, collaborative journalism, and environmental sustainability.
