Armed Conflict Location & Event Data (ACLED) is a disaggregated data collection, analysis, and crisis mapping initiative. ACLED collects information on the dates, actors, locations, fatalities, and types of all reported political violence and protest events around the world. The ACLED team conducts analysis to describe and explore conflict trends.

Ana-Marco

Ana Marco is an international development and security professional with experience across the public, private, and non-profit sectors.

She holds a Master’s degree in International Security from Sciences Po Paris, a specialization diploma in Security in the Mediterranean, Near and Middle East from Instituto Gutiérrez Mellado, and a BSc in Psychology and Criminology from Keele University.

Ana works as a Research Analyst at ACLED and has been with the organisation since September 2022. At ACLED she analyzes conflict data and transforms it into accessible visual outputs to support analytical pieces. She occasionally contributes written analysis and regularly assists journalists in understanding and using ACLED’s dataset. Her regional focus includes Latin America and the Middle East, and her thematic focus lies in election-related violence, through her work on ACLED’s Election Watch project.


Katayoun-Kishi

Dr. Katayoun Kishi is the Head of Data Science at ACLED. She oversees the management and publication of ACLED data, advises on new approaches to improving data collection and management, and leads ACLED’s data science initiatives.

Katayoun’s areas of expertise include computational social science, data management, conflict studies and comparative politics. She has 10 years of experience in applying quantitative methodologies to humanitarian and political research, including at the United States Institute of Peace and Pew Research Center.

She holds a PhD in Government and Politics from the University of Maryland with a concentration in comparative politics and quantitative methodology. Her primary research interests are conflict forecasting and its use in humanitarian early warning systems.

Bron Mills is a seasoned broadcast journalist and communications strategist, currently Media Relations Manager at ACLED.

She previously worked at BBC One, BBC Regional, ITV News, and led media outreach as press officer at Warwick Business School – where she launched and hosts its flagship podcast.

At ACLED, she manages global media partnerships, crafts multimedia press packs and trains experts in meaningful conversation. Her work bridges complex data and storytelling, amplifying key issues through international media.
