Wafaa Albadry

Journalist & Founder, Ai.Human.Story

Wafaa Albadry is an award-winning journalist, editor, and media innovation leader with over 15 years of experience in broadcast and digital media across Europe and the Middle East. She is currently pursuing an MSc in Cyberpsychology, studying the science of human behaviour, cognition in digital life. Wafaa is the founder of AI. Human, Story, a platform dedicated to telling the human side of AI and developing vital infrastructure to help newsrooms use AI responsibly.

During her decade at Germany’s international broadcaster Deutsche Welle (DW), she led initiatives including She@Work, a project empowering women economically in the MENA region, and co-developed a bot game designed to counter disinformation. As regional editor at Unbias the News, she managed investigative teams producing impactful cross-border stories and co-authored the book Unbias the News: Why Diversity Matters for Journalism.

Her work has appeared in major outlets such as the BBC, France 24, Vice, and The National News, where she oversaw 13 newsletters. Wafaa mentors journalists, delivers keynote speeches and guest lectures, judges journalism awards, and serves on the European Press Prize preparation committee.
