Over the years, Foeke has uncovered critical stories using open source techniques—such as tracking soldiers through fitness apps, revealing sensitive nuclear weapons details via Google searches, and exposing how celebrity photoshoots with tiger cubs enable illegal wildlife trade in Dubai.

As a trainer, he regularly teaches open sources investigative methods to journalists, researchers, and activists around the world.
