Oleksiy Sorokin

Senior Editor, Kyiv Independent

Oleksiy Sorokin is the co-founder of the Kyiv Independent and has worked as a political editor and COO since the company’s founding. He is now the senior editor of the KI. Following a BA from the University of Toronto, Oleksiy became a political writer at the Kyiv Post. He broke stories on government and judiciary topics and investigated the former President and Prosecutor General. At the Kyiv Independent, Oleksiy was tasked with building the organization, participating in meetings with sponsors, website development, editorial partnerships, hiring and editing. He occasionally writes with this latest articles include interviews with the European Commission President and President of Latvia.
