Matt Sarnecki

Director, Journalist, OCCRP

Matt Sarnecki is a journalist, producer and director at the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP). His documentary Killing Pavel won the Investigative Reporters and Editors Medal in 2017 and the DIG Award in 2018. His most recent film, The Killing of a Journalist, premiered in summer 2022.

Matt received a BA in political science from Columbia University in 2004, and a master’s in journalism at the University of California, Berkeley, in 2013. He held a Fulbright Teaching Assistantship at the Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, Czech Republic, in 2006-7.
