Geri Emiri

Executive Director, Amfora.al

Geri Emiri is the founder and executive director of the Amfora Center.

He graduated in “Journalism and Communication” at the University of Tirana. He has worked in several online and television media. He has continued his qualifications in Europe, the United Kingdom and the United States.

He has been honored with several awards, including the EU Prize for Investigative Journalism in Albania, second place, for the year 2020. He has been engaged for years as an activist and has undertaken several initiatives to improve community life in Durrës.

Geri is focused on investigative journalism and supporting activists. He and the Amfora Media team have excelled in investigative reporting on corruption, human rights and organised crime. They were awarded the EU Prize for Investigative Journalism in Albania, for the year 2023 - for their investigation into the abuse of EU agricultural funds in Albania and North Macedonia.
