Carlos Hernández-Echevarría

Carlos Hernández-Echevarría is the Assistant Director of Fundación Maldita.es. After 15 years in TV journalism, he joined the nonprofit in 2020 to lead its public policy and advocacy operation where he formulates, evaluates, and advocates for more effective policy solutions against disinformation.

He is a former chair of the association of European fact-checking organizations EFCSN and the head of its policy task force. He is a member of the Permanent Task Force of the EU Code of Practice on Disinformation and a professor of International Journalism at Universidad Carlos III.
