Anastasia Katsaounidou is an Assistant Professor at Ionian University's Department of Digital Media and Communication. Her PhD from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki focused on "Interactive and Collaborative Environments for Authenticity Verification of Digital Content," supported by the State Scholarships Foundation (IKY). She is influenced by Hannah Arendt's insight into truth erosion through continual lying in politics and media.
Anastasia's research, reflected in publications like "Cross-Media Authentication and Verification: Emerging Research and Opportunities" (IGI), addresses media ethics, misinformation, and the evolving digital landscape. As an author in journals such as Heliyon, Journalism, and Education Sciences, she provides solutions for navigating today's media challenges and upholding truth in journalism and society. Her work focuses on integrity in information dissemination, aiming to safeguard the reliability of our understanding of the world.
