International Press Institute (IPI)
The International Press Institute (IPI) is a global network —a vibrant community of over 1,000 members from more than 100 countries, all dedicated to defending media freedom and supporting independent journalism.
Here are some opportunities available for network members:

- Grace Linczer, Membership and Engagement Manager at the International Press Institute (IPI)
Grace leads IPI's membership program, focusing on member engagement and support for the 1000+ journalists, editors and publishers who comprise the IPI global network. She also organizes the annual IPI World Congress. Before joining IPI in 2022, Grace was the Membership Engagement Manager at PEN America, where she spearheaded the PEN Across America program, connecting communities across the U.S. to advocate for press freedom and civil discourse. She holds a master’s degree in public administration from Central European University and a bachelor’s degree in anthropology and international peace studies from the University of Notre Dame.
- Javier Luque-Martinez, Head of Digital Communications for the International Press Institute (IPI)
Javier is the Head of Digital Communications for the International Press Institute, where he coordinates advocacy and communication on IPI’s digital platforms. He has worked on the issue of online hate against journalists and media organisations since 2014. His research on this topic has been quoted by media worldwide such as The Guardian, The British Journalism Review and Bloomberg News.
In 2018, he directed “A Dark Place”, his third film documentary, which premiered at Vienna’s This Human World film festival. He has also worked as a consultant for the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media for their project on Safety of Female Journalists Online. Before joining IPI, Javier worked as a broadcast and multimedia journalist for local and international news organisations.
- Scott Griffen, Interim Executive Director of the International Press Institute (IPI)
Scott is interim executive director of the International Press Institute (IPI), the global network of editors, publishers, and leading journalists for press freedom. IPI works to protect and promote press freedom and independent journalism wherever they are threatened. Scott joined IPI in 2014 and became deputy director in 2018.
He is the author of numerous IPI reports on diverse topics related to press freedom and independent journalism and has led or participated in dozens of IPI press freedom missions around the world. He comments regularly on issues related to press freedom and media pluralism in international media. He holds degrees from Yale University, King’s College London, and Johannes Kepler University Linz.
