ORGANISATIONS 2024

Forensic Architecture Initiative Αthens, or FAIĀ, is a new non- profit investigative agency, which undertakes spatial and multimedia investigations for cases of human rights and environmental violence. Faiā works with communities that have suffered state and corporate violence and produces evidence to support their claims to justice.

Founded in the spring of 2024, Faiā builds on the pioneering work of Forensic Architecture and its sister organisation Forensis which draw on architectural methodologies to create new evidentiary techniques and disseminate them to the public. It is set up by leading members of these organisations that have undertaken critical work in the Greek context and beyond over the past decade.

Faiā is the newest member of the Investigative Commons (IC): a network of organisations working across disciplines and borders that share a commitment to investigating state violence through an open verification framework.

Attending the Μedia Village will be:

• Stefanos Levidis, Spatial & Visual Researcher

Stefanos is an architect, spatial researcher and visual practitioner. He is the co-founder and co-director of Forensic Architecture Initiative Athens (Faiā) and has previously been a senior researcher at Forensic Architecture and Forensis. He holds a PhD, titled “Border Natures”, from the Centre for Research Architecture, Goldsmiths and is a postdoctoral fellow at the National Hellenic Research Foundation under the project MUTE.

• Georgia Skartadou, Visual Researcher

Georgia is a new media artist, architect and researcher. She holds a diploma degree in Architecture from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and a master’s degree in Digital Arts from the Ionian University. Her research focuses on affordances and limitations of new media/technologies in processes of reclaiming social interventions and interactions. She has worked as a freelance artist/designer in the fields of film and game industry.

• Andreas Makas, Researcher

Andreas is an architect and spatial investigator. He works with 3D and graphics to visually communicate data and investigative research. He has production experience in research, documentaries, and AR.
