The Foreign Press Association of Greece (FPA) was founded in 1916 and is the only officially recognized organization for foreign media representatives in Greece. The main goal of this non-profit association is to promote the professional duties of its members.

Attending the Μedia Village will be:

  • Giorgos Christides, Journalist
Christides Giorgos

Giorgos is a Greece based investigative journalist focusing on migration. He is a regular contributor to German public broadcaster NDR/ARD, and his work has also appeared in The Guardian, the BBC, Al Jazeera, Hyphen, Solomon and a number of other international and Greek media. He was a reporter with German news magazine Der Spiegel from 2012 until 2023. As part of cross-border, collaborative media investigations, he was a runner-up for the 2024 European Press Prize in the migration category. He has received the Investigative Journalism for Europe (IJ4EU) prize (2023, 2022), the Daphne Caruana Galizia Prize for Journalism (2023), the SIGMA award for data journalism (2023) and the De Tegel award (2022). He also received the European Parliament Journalism Award in the print media category in 2009. He is a board member of Greece’s Foreign Press Association (FPA).


  • Savvas Karamaniolas, Video Journalist
Karamaniolas Savvas

Savvas is a freelance video journalist based in Athens, Greece. He has been covering breaking news and various contemporary issues for foreign news agencies and TV broadcasters since 2014.


  • Sanja Ristovska, Journalist
Ristovska Sanja

Sanja is a foreign journalist, for MIA News agency – North Macedonia in Athens. She is the Vice President of the Executive Board of the Foreign Press Association of Greece.


  • Maria Spiliopoulou, Correspondent Xinhua, FPA member of BoD
Spiliopoulou

Maria is a Greek journalist with 27 years of experience. She has worked for local newspapers "Ta Nea" and “Eleftheros Typos.” Since 2009, she is correspondent of Chinese news agency XINHUA in Greece, and since 2023 Treasurer of Foreign Press Association of Greece. She holds a degree from the Department of Communication and Media Studies of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.


  • Nektaria Stamouli, Reporter
Stamouli

Nektaria is POLITICO Europe’s Eastern Mediterranean correspondent, based in Athens, covering Greece, Cyprus and the broader region. She is also the Deputy editor in chief in the English edition of Greek daily “Kathimerini.” Since 2021 she is the president of Greece’s Foreign Press Association.

She was previously the region's correspondent for the Wall Street Journal and Dow Jones Newswires, covering the decades long Greek financial crisis, as well the Cypriot debt crisis and Europe’s migration crisis.

She studied Communications, Media and Culture at Panteion University in Athens and holds a Master’s degree in International Journalism from City University, London.


  • Stamoulis Prousalis, Video Journalist

Stamos is working for Reuters as a video journalist. He has more than 20 years experience in the broadcasting industry in Greece and worldwide. Has produced more than 8,000 reports from more than 50 countries. Greece's debt crisis and the Europe’s refugee crisis,the war in Afghanistan (2001), the war in Iraq (2003), war in Ossetia (2008), crisis in the Middle East (1998-2005), crisis in Albania (1997-1999), war in Kosovo. Has also worked on a number of documentaries as D.O.P. focusing on North Korea, Sierra Leone, Turkey, Amazon, China, Malaoui, Ethiopia, Maroco, Egypt, Malta, Germany, Ghana, Guatemala, England, France, Italy, Romania, Finland, Bulgaria and Albania. He has also covered features on the country’s ongoing worst economic and social crisis since World War Two, as well as Europe’s refugee crisis and Covid 19 pandemic crisis.


  • Angelos Tsatsis, Video Journalist
Tsatsis

Angelos is an accomplished professional with 25 years of experience in the field of television in Greek and International Media. He is Secretary General of the Association of Foreign Press Correspondents. He has covered war conflicts in Iraq, Gaza Strip, Georgia and has travelled to many countries around the world such as Egypt, Albania, Turkey, Zambia, Cuba, USA, Spain and many others to broadcast stories and events.

Since 2016, based in Athens, Greece, he has been working as a freelance video journalist in international media such as Xinhua News Agency, arte, DW, CGTN, RTS, TG1, ABC Australia, etc. He has been awarded for his first personal documentary entitled "The missing piece" with the Audience Award at the 26th Thessaloniki International Documentary Festival and with an honorable mention at the cinematic-european-film-festival
