European Press Prize (EPP)

European Press Prize (EPP)

https://www.europeanpressprize.com/

The mission of the European Press Prize is to celebrate and encourage European journalism of the highest quality — to help counter the effects of a transforming, pressured market and fragile press freedom and to stimulate journalists to keep contributing to the quality of European journalism.

Formed by seven independent European foundations with reliable media connections, the Prize is striving to remain a resilient organisation that is equipped to continue offering journalists all over Europe a source of legitimacy in a time where trust in journalism is declining.

Attending the Μedia Village will be:

  • Jennifer Athanasiou-Prins, Executive Director of the European Press Prize
Athanasiou Prins Jeniffer

Jennifer holds a Bachelor of Laws degree with honours as well as a Master of Laws degree in Dutch civil law from the VU Amsterdam. She specialises in organisational development, community building and building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders. Given her legal background, she values governance and equity highly. Due to her bi-cultural background, Jennifer is an advocate of pursuing cultural sensitivity, especially in European and international collaborations.

  • Ella Klaas, Head of Operations at the European Press Prize
Klaas Ella

Ella holds an MSc in Political Communication from the University of Amsterdam and has published her Master’s thesis on the topic of the credibility of female journalists.

  • Emanuele Del Rosso, Head of Communications at the European Press Prize
Del Rosso Emanuele

Emanuele is an Italian communication specialist and editorial cartoonist.

He is Head of Communications of the European Press Prize, Deputy Director of the European Cartoon Award, Trainer at RNTC and works as a freelance political cartoonist for several international newspapers and media outlets.
