Only a month to go until International Journalism Week 2022 begins, to be held by iMEdD between October 5th and 9th at the Athens Conservatoire. More than 80 journalists from Greek and international media and organisations will share their thoughts through panels, workshops and keynote speeches on the crucial issue of trust in journalism.
Aiming at the exchange of good practices and tools based on international data sources and taking into account the multiple transformations journalism is undergoing, International Journalism Week 2022 offers the following workshops:
- How any journalist can earn trust
- How not to lie with statistics
- Tips and tricks for getting your story funded
- How To: First steps in journalism
- Investigation and verification techniques: So you think you can Google?

Transparency, independent reporting, journalism in times of war, the value of the regional press and alternative sources of funding are just a few of the topics to be discussed in an effort to promote a healthy media environment.
The opportunity to get to know representatives from such organisations as Athens Photo World (APW), BIRN, EDJNet, European Press Prize, Global Investigative Journalism Network (GIJN), Mediterranean Institute for Investigative Reporting (MIIR), Solomon, Reporters Without Borders (RSF) and La Maison des Journalistes will be given to visitors of the specially designed Media Village, where they will be able to interact and attend sessions on the vision and work of these organisations.
The screening of the documentary “The Killing of a Journalist” (curated by the Thessaloniki Film Festival) in the presence of director Matt Sarnecki, senior producer of the OCCRP, wraps up Journalism Week on Sunday October 9th. The final day will commentate with the European Press Prize holding its first meeting of all the winners from its 10-year history.
