Voices That Matter in the Age of Doubt

Unveiling the First Announced Speakers for #iMEdDIJF25

In an era of rising disinformation, environmental crises, AI disruption, and eroding press freedom, journalism is being pushed to redefine its purpose and reach. The iMEdD International Journalism Forum 2025, themed “Navigating the Age of Doubt,” is gathering some of the most influential voices in global media to tackle the urgent challenges of our time; from labor exploitation and misinformation to the emotional toll of reporting and the shifting power of influence online.

Among the first confirmed speakers are some of journalism’s most trusted names:

  • Martha Mendoza, two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and FRONTLINE correspondent, known for her investigations into labor abuse in global supply chains.
  • María Teresa Ronderos, Director of Latin American Centre for Investigative Journalism (CLIP) and a leading force in uncovering online disinformation networks across Latin America.
  • Clayton Weimers, Executive Director of Reporters Without Borders USA, bringing a sharp focus on the ethical integration of AI in newsrooms.
  • Sharon Moshavi, President of the International Center for Journalists (ICIJ), who alongside media strategist Justin Arenstein is exploring how nano influencers can amplify fact-based journalism in the social media age.
  • Philip Jacobson, Senior Editor at Mongabay, whose reporting exposes environmental and food supply corruption.
  • Bruce Shapiro, Executive Director of the Global Center for Journalism and Trauma, confronting the mental health crisis among journalists and its impact on press freedom.

These speakers represent just the beginning of what promises to be a vital, global conversation about the future of journalism in uncertain times.

The iMEdD International Journalism Forum 2025 takes place September 25–27 in Athens, Greece.

More speakers and sessions to be announced.
