For the second consecutive year, iMEdD is offering 10 fellowships to professional journalists working in local or regional media and living outside the Attica region, to attend the iMEdD International Journalism Forum.
Now in its seventh year, the Forum will take place in Athens from September 25 to 27, and will feature presentations, discussions, workshops, and networking opportunities with professionals from around the world. The initiative aims to amplify the presence of the regional press in public discourse and promote its active participation in international journalism fora.
“I came back from the iMEdD International Journalism Forum a different person! Through networking, workshops, and talks by great professionals in the field, I remembered why I love this profession and how I can carry on with new tools, ideas, and passion — something that was immediately reflected in my work.”
— Thenia Vasileiadou (Kozani), fellow 2024
“Three days filled with thought, knowledge, and inspiration. The iMEdD International Journalism Forum isn’t just a conference — it’s a reminder that journalism is both a responsibility and a source of hope.”
— Giorgos Mavridis (Xanthi), fellow 2024
What the fellowship covers:
- Travel expenses within Greece, according to specific terms
- Accommodation in Athens (September 24–28)
- Full access to all Forum sessions

Who can apply:
The program is open to professional journalists working in local or regional media and residing outside the Attica region, regardless of employment status (staff, freelance, or external collaborators).

Priority will be given to:
- Journalists actively engaged in reporting and editorial work — such as reporters, editors, and freelancers — who are involved in the regional press
- Applications from more remote or underrepresented areas of the country
Applications will be evaluated by the iMEdD team.
What is expected from fellows:
