You don’t need to have “product” in your title to think like a product leader. This hands-on workshop will demystify product thinking and guide participants through the steps of turning a newsroom challenge into a tangible solution—using real audience needs as your starting point.

Working in small groups, participants will:

  • Identify a problem your audience is facing using the Jobs To Be Done framework
  • Brainstorm and sketch out a solution
  • Map out how it would work in practice
  • Share your idea and get feedback

Along the way, the session will cover the product life cycle—from discovery to delivery—and offer practical tools to help you bring these methods back to your work, no matter your role, background, or organization size.

Especially useful for journalists seeking to align their reporting with real audience needs. This session is open to anyone curious about how to build better information products. No prior experience required—just curiosity and a willingness to build.
