Agenda
This hands-on workshop introduces ACLED, a freely available conflict dataset for journalists covering political violence and protests.
ACLED’s Head of Data Science, Dr. Katayoun Kishi, will break down how our team collects and verifies conflict data and explain why you can trust the data for your reporting. Participants will also gain hands-on experience exploring ACLED data using a suite of platforms designed to provide fast, intuitive, and actionable insights for reporting and analysis. With these data platforms, users can visually explore the data, identify violent trends, and calculate the number of people exposed to violence from conflict, among other analytical functions.
ACLED’s Research Analyst will also share best practices for interpreting the data, helping journalists integrate these findings into their reporting to strengthen analysis and enhance credibility.
Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and receive guidance during a dedicated Q&A session.
